Beginners / Early Starters
Social Run
The Early Starters / Beginners is a session for those who are either new to running, coming back from injury, want to take it easy or just fancy a steady, lighter paced run.

The session is run by Terry Lacy who is on hand to answer any questions you may have. Just come on down and give us a try. We ask that runners are able to run 5 miles as this is the distance we do. It's run at a very steady pace and have various stops to allow people to catch up. No one gets left behind.

If this sounds like something you'd like we'd love to see you at the session. Try us out for a few week for free. You won't regret it!
The Social Run has always been the most popular session at the club. Run by Paul Beresford, who is assisted by Steve Kellett, we always attract a large group to meet at this time.

Very much like the Early Starters / Beginners, you don't have to be of a certain level, though we do run between 7-8 miles. Again, we add 2 or 3 stops in so people can catch up. The routes can be cut short if anyone wants to run back early. Usually some do so you're not alone if you decide to do so.

Each week we run a different route just to mix things up. During the summer we do a few routes by the canal in Methley and Woodlesford. Also we do a cross country route through the fields at the back of the sports centre. During the winter we keep to the roads through Rothwell and Oulton. Check the forum for the weekly routes.

Paul always has information and forms for forthcoming races which he always has available on the night. Also if you are wanting any club kit, Carol Davies is down most Wednesdays so you can place an order with her.
Each session will cost members £1 but if you choose to do another session during the same week you won't need to pay again.
On the first Wednesday of every month both sessions get together to run at 6.30pm. This is so new and existing members from each
session can get to know one and other better. The session has proved to be a great success, attracting between 30 -40 members each time.

The run will usually go between 4 to 5 miles with shorter routes for those who want to head back early or fancy an easy run. Then afterwards
we all meet up for a few drinks in either the New Masons or the Grove . Please see below the dates of each of these sessions.
